A Little Spot of Feelings & Emotions is a program created by Diane Abler and used all over the world to help children and adolescents learn that all feelings are good!
Feelings & Emotions: Introduction
Session 1
Emotional Vocabulary
Individuals will learn new vocabulary that describes their feelings and emotions.
Session 2
Emotional Awareness
Individuals will learn to recognize feelings and emotions in themselves and others.
Session 3
Emotion Check-ins
Individuals will learn the benefit of feelings and emotions check-ins.
Session 4
Mixed Emotion
Individuals will learn how to identify emotions when they are happening simultaneously.
Session 5
Colors & Emotions/Feelings
Individuals will learn new vocabulary to describe feelings and emotions and to begin to associate colors with feelings and emotions.
Session 6
Facial Expressions & Body Language
Individuals learn how to identify facial expressions in themselves and in others. Individuals begin to recognize and express feelings.

Session 1
Connection Between Feelings & Emotions
Individuals will learn how feelings and emotions connect.
Session 2
Peaceful Spot
Individuals will explore strategies to help stay calm, self-management, the ability to handle BIG emotions and identify when it is time to calm down.
Session 3
Spot of Anger
Individuals will learn how to identify frustrations related to situations/ events (triggers). Individuals will learn how people react differently to the same situation. Individuals will learn how to express anger without hurting themselves or others.
Session 4
Spot of Anxiety
Individuals will learn how worries can become overwhelming. Begin to understand the differences between a good worry and a spinning worry and how to calm their anxiety.
Session 5
Spot of Sadness
Individuals will learn big emotions and how to identify them in themselves and others. Individuals will learn coping techniques and what empathy means.
Session 6
Spot of Confidence
Individuals will learn how to develop self-worth. Individuals will also learn strategies and routines that can help to build their confidence.
Session 7
Inclusion
Individuals will learn how being kind can help someone else build their confidence and how to appreciate and accept uniqueness.
Session 8
Relationship Skills
Individuals will learn how actions from others can build confidence. What building positivity looks like.
Session 9
Community
Individuals will learn how to build a community and the importance of motivation and determination in accomplishing goals.
Session 10
Belonging
Individuals will learn how to accept differences, how to handle conflict in a positive way and how it takes courage to stand up for what you think is right.
Session 11
Happiness
Individuals learn how to spread kindness and have a positive attitude. Individuals will also learn strategies and routines that can help build confidence.
Session 12
Teamwork
Individuals will learn about teamwork and problem solving and the importance of helping others.
Session 14
Kindess
Individuals will learn about social awareness and how positive actions can have a chain reaction.
